We began by understanding the foundation behind ALADA — its name, its connection to land, and the technical expertise of its founders as CAD designers and land-survey professionals.
What We Discussed
The origin of ALADA, inspired by the Kannada association with the banyan tree.
The banyan as a symbol of strength, rootedness, longevity, and continuous growth.
ALADA's work across land surveys, plotting, CAD drawings, mapping, and land development.
The importance of precision, accuracy, and reliability within technical land-related work.
The relationship between land, measurement, drawing, and development.
The opportunity to create an identity that feels technical and professional without becoming overly rigid or corporate.
The possibility of using survey and contour lines as a distinctive visual language for the brand.
What We Concluded
ALADA operates at the intersection of land and technology.
While its work is highly technical, its subject is inherently organic — the land itself. The banyan tree offered a meaningful foundation for the brand, representing the strength of a foundation and the continuous growth that emerges from it.
We identified an opportunity to bring these two worlds together: the organic character of the banyan and the precision of surveying and CAD.
The identity therefore needed to communicate strength, precision, rootedness, and growth without relying on a literal illustration of a tree.
Conclusions & insights
Rooted in Land
The banyan became the conceptual foundation of ALADA — representing strength, stability, longevity, and the idea that meaningful growth begins with strong roots.
Precision with an Organic Character
Surveying and CAD require accuracy and structure, while land itself is organic and constantly varied. The identity brings these characteristics together through a balance of bold typography and flowing linework.
From Lines to Possibilities
For ALADA, lines are more than a graphic element. They represent the process of understanding land — from surveys and contours to drawings, plotting, planning, and ultimately development.
