Amazon Pay Visual | UI
Working as a Visual designer at Pay
Amazon Pay is a high-frequency utility product used for everyday transactions—ranging from bill payments to shopping and transfers. As a Visual Designer on this initiative, I contributed to reimagining the experience beyond just a feature update—it was a strategic effort to modernize the UI and build a scalable design system. The goal was to improve usability, bring visual consistency, and engagement into everyday financial interactions.
Challenge
Designing a Faster, Clearer & More Accessible Payment Experience
Digital payment platforms have evolved into ecosystems that host dozens of services within a single interface. Users can transfer money, pay bills, manage subscriptions, collect rewards, recharge services, and access financial tools—all from one place. While this expansion increases functionality, it also introduces a new challenge:
How do you present a growing number of services without making the interface feel overwhelming?
This project explores a visual design direction for Amazon Pay, focusing on how thoughtful use of hierarchy, color, illustration, typography, and component design can reduce complexity and create a more engaging fintech experience. Rather than rethinking product functionality, the exploration focuses on reimagining how information is visually organized and communicated.
The challenge wasn't a lack of functionality.
The challenge was a lack of visual hierarchy, excitement & customer engagement

Conclusion & Insights
Reviewed existing UI patterns across wallet, rewards, cards & payments. Identified inconsistencies in spacing, colors, and components. Mapped key user journeys to understand friction points.
Design Principles Defined
Clarity over clutter – simplify dense financial info
Consistency at scale – unify components & behaviors
Delight in utility – introduce moments of engagement
Flexible system – design for future scalability
Visual Exploration
Explored multiple directions combining minimal UI + expressive elements. Tested balance between Amazon’s functional tone and a more lifestyle-driven feel. Introduced 3D elements to add warmth & relatability.
System Building
Developed a cohesive iconography set. Created reusable components and layout structures, trapeze shape added for base and consistent element for visuals.
The exploration demonstrates how visual design can reduce the perception of complexity without reducing functionality. By introducing stronger hierarchy, modular structures, purposeful color usage, and expressive illustrations, the interface becomes easier to scan, easier to understand, and more enjoyable to use. The result is a visual design system that transforms a feature-rich fintech platform into an experience that feels organized, approachable, and intuitive.
